Händel's Messiah

Join us for a come-and-sing rehearsal and performance of highlights from George Frideric Händel’s masterpiece Messiah in aid of Help2Ukraine. In 2024 and 2025 Help2Ukraine (Suffolk) sent four ambulances to Lviv, as part of a convoy of eight. In 2026 we will do the same. The ambulances are decommissioned NHS vehicles, fully maintained and full of life-saving equipment. They are equipped to deal with real needs from bandages to body bags. The total cost per ambulance including purchase, insurance, roadside assist, fuel, ferry crossing, etc is approximately £8000. We are continuing to negotiate this year’s arrangements, and are enormously grateful for the practical help and support we receive to make this happen.

Rehearsal will take place from 2-5pm and the performance will start at 6pm.

The cost will be £20 for the day for singers, and £25 for the audience (£10 under-21s). There will be refreshments between rehearsal and concert, and in the interval.

Choir 2000 is pleased to announce the first Summer Concert in three year with its return to the beautiful West Road Concert Hall, Cambridge, on Sunday 26 June.
